Based in Whetstone, North London, the Practice is currently 20 personnel split between Engineering and Surveying disciplines with the appropriate administrative back-up under the direction of the Managing Director and three Directors.
Andrew Halstead BSc FRICS FConsE
Andrew began his career at a variety of London practices before joining Halstead Associates in 1985 to establish the Surveying side of the Practice. As well as attracting new clients to the Practice, Andrew also takes a hands-on approach with his own projects and also regularly acts as Bank Monitoring Surveyor for a number of large financial institutions.
Andrew became a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors in 1995 and a Fellow of the Association of Consulting Engineers in 1998.
David Oates CEng BEng (Hons) MIStructE
Director of Engineering
After graduating from Loughborough University of Technology in 1994, David began his career at Eastwood & Partners in Sheffield. This was followed by stints with both Scott Wilson and Capita, before joining Halstead Associates as a Senior Engineer in 2005. He was promoted to Associate Director in 2007 and latterly a Director in early 2014, having gained Chartership in 2008.
David takes an active involvement in all his projects and has substantial experience delivering projects in all sectors and materials. He is responsible for managing Engineering projects from initial enquiry through to construction of the works on site and his role also includes allocating HA resources and the coordination of work in-house to ensure prompt delivery of an economic and appropriate design solution.
Terence Martin BSc (Hons) MRICS
Director of Surveying
Terence began his career with Stace prior to joining Halstead Associates as a Junior Quantity Surveyor in 2007, completing his degree at Anglia Ruskin University in 2009.
Terence took on the role of Senior Surveyor in early 2014 and was promoted to Associate Director at the beginning of 2015. In September 2016 he became a Director and as such is responsible for managing the QS Department and its projects from initial enquiry through to construction of the works on site. His role also includes allocating HA resources and also the coordination of work in-house to ensure prompt delivery of services.
